Government Internship Program (GIP)

The Government Internship Program (GIP) is a youth employability program that provides 3–6 months of internship opportunities for individuals who want to pursue a career in public service at either local or national government. GIP serves as a training ground for future government employees and aims to create a competitive and experienced workforce.

QUALIFICATIONS

GIP Qualifications
  • Individuals aged 18–30 years old, except as determined by DOLE Regional Offices
  • High school / Senior High School graduate, ALS or technical-vocational graduate
  • No prior work experience, except those under DO No. 204-19 Section 2 (d) & (e)
  • Priority to disadvantaged groups:
    • Victims of armed conflicts
    • Rebel returnees
    • Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)
    • Indigenous Peoples (IPs)

WHAT ARE THE ENTITLEMENTS OF A GIP BENEFICIARY?

Allowance / Stipend

Equivalent to the highest prevailing minimum wage in the region.

Personal Accident Insurance

Coverage for one (1) year with GSIS.

Certificate of Completion

Issued by DOLE Regional Office upon completion of the program.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Transcript of Records (TOR) or Form 137 / Form 138
  • Diploma or Certificate of Graduation
  • Certification from school / institution or equivalent document
